Remembering Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau: One Year Later

Exactly one year ago today, the hockey world was struck by tragic news – Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew passed away. They were hit by a drunk driver while riding their bikes. The tragic incident occurred in the state of New Jersey.

Always smiling, Johnny was an iconic figure throughout the league – both in Calgary and Columbus. Simply put, he was a likable personality, a hard worker, an excellent hockey player, and a devoted father.

Matthew, the younger of the siblings, was a gifted and talented hockey player who dreamed of achieving great goals one day.

Thank you Johnny and Matthew for making hockey better, for caring for your families, and for your children when possible. The hockey world is still in mourning.
